Sooooooo I have been redesigning my branding and am in the process of creating new business cards, but I didn't know who to use for printing. I saw an ad on facebook for this card company called MOO and they were offering a free set of 50 facebook cards. They use your basic information for the card, you can add info or remove info, and the use your profile picture and up to 50 of your cover photos. (which is a lot of cover photos I may add...i don't think that I even had 20!! :) Today I got my order from MOO!!! These cards are super nice feeling and double sided!!...what do ya think??

Dog Washing
Yesterday after work, it was soooo HOT!! Last weekend Roper and I went to a friends house in Oakdale and spent the afternoon lounging in the sun and catching up on the latest happenings. My friend is currently re-landscaping their backyard; getting the pool resurfaced, new concrete patio, new grass, new flowers, A GARDEN!! I'm jealous :) So Roper got to hangout with Missy and Zena; which was the highlight of his day let me tell ya! He was running around, chasing lizards with Zena, trying to wrestle with Missy, and frolicking through weeds and the arena! He was having a blast!! With all this running around and mischief making, he was red with the concrete stain...........so, since the sun was out and it was so nice yesterday, I gave Mr. Roper a bath :) Much to my surprise, he stood there on the concrete slab as I washed the red away. After he was dried off we played for a while and he modeled a little bit :)
Each of these images are very different. I had fun playing with the light and whatnot :)

Little Bit of This & Little Bit of That
So today's post is going to be a little bit random, but random is fun!! Well at least I think so lol....Here we go! So today, on my lunch break I logged onto creativeLive and watched a couple inspiring videos that encouraged me to take some photos this afternoon. These videos all had one theme in common, KEEP PRACTICING. So that's what I decided to do! I went outside after I got home from work and the light was so fun to work with!! (Light is probably my BIGGEST inspiration!) I was able to just walk around the property and take shot of anything!! IT WAS AMAZING!!!! and FUN! Annnnnnnnnd.....most importantly it was good practice :) As some of you know I have recently moved, so now I can show off a little bit of what I get to see every day :) Enjoy friends!

Nice Weather
These past few days we have had some super crazy weather!! Like wind that will blow you over crazy! True story......I almost fell over when I went to go bring the dogs in lol....no shame! Haha!! But today I woke up to a beautiful sunrise and the sky looked somewhat promising of a nice day!! Thank goodness! :) And indeed it was a gorgeous day. I love being able to go outside and play with the doggies. Everything during that time seems so peaceful and "uncrazy" if thats even a word lol. Tonight I snapped this picture with my crappy camera on my phone...doesn't really do much justice, but it was still pretty :)
Hope you all had a great day!!

Words of Encouragement
So as many of you know, I am
starting my new business. I have clients lined up for weddings this year and I
cannot wait to get things rolling! But sometimes I catch myself getting too far
ahead of myself and then over thinking the logistics. Then I get frustrated and
feel like I should just give up on everything! At that point in time, God feeds
me some feel-good-encouraging-YOU-CAN-DO-IT words that I need. I was laying in bed
yesterday trying to fall asleep and my mind was racing with big dreams for my
business, how I want to be as AWESOME as Jasmine Star, Katelyn James, and Justin & Mary. These dreams are suddenly shattered by the realization that there is a
lot of hard work, practice, and many, many long days before I get to that stage
I feel somewhat discouraged. Coincidentally I was reading a post on Katelyn
James’ blog, in the midst of my despair, where she was talking about her
business start up tips. She gave some really neat and useful insight on the
business side of being a photographer by using her experiences. That post spoke
to me…no really, it SPOKE to me:
“The
first year can be the hardest. You’re probably not going to make any money.
You’ll have to work harder than you ever have and you’ll be tired. Decide to
keep going. Decide to keep pushing forward and taking risks. This isn’t over
until you allow it to be over. If this is your passion, make a commitment to
keep fighting for your dream!”
-Katelyn
James
So here it is; here I am.
Deciding to keep going. Deciding to keep pushing forward and taking risks.
Because this IS my PASSION, here is my commitment to keep fighting for MY
DREAM!
Despite all that I have working against me, I have so
many things working with me to help me accomplish my goals and keep me heading
on the path that I want to be on. I am so INCREDIBLY blessed to have the people
I have in my life. Without their support, I would be lost. I thank God everyday
for giving me strength and courage to keep my eyes on the prize and for reminding
me to be grateful for all the blessings I have. Happy Monday!! :)
