Sunday's Sweet Reminder | Cousin Camping Trip 2012

Last month (I know I'm REALLLYYY late on this post!!) we had our annual cousins camping trip. And when I say annual, this is our third year :) lol Some families are big and some families are small and some are just average sized. To say there are just a few of us Watkins cousins would be an understatement. Three years ago, four of us started a tradition that we hoped would continue for a lifetime. We set up a couple tents, ate some good food, fished all weekend, caught bull frogs, and most importantly, made memories. The next year there were around ten of us, so that made for more shenanigans and more memory making. This year, there was about twenty of us there!! We all met at Brandon and Mattea's property up at Eastman Lake for the weekend. It is always a good time spent with all of us cousins; we fish, hangout at camp or on a boat, catch up on the new happenings of each others lives, and eat good food!! haha This year we took the boats up around to the Ahjumawi Lava Springs State Park where we packed up a picnic lunch and stayed for a few hours to visit, fish, kayak, and enjoy the scenery. During our time at Eastman Lake, the Hex Fly hatch was taking place at the famous Fall River. It was so amazing to see all of these Hex Flies on the water; there were thousands!!!!! Fish were jumping everywhere! Another very special thing for us cousins is when Granny & Poppa come out to visit!! (and this year Granny made us a big batch of her AMAZING donuts!! Which were gone in a flash :) Sitting there with almost all the cousins, the soon to be cousins, and our grandparents really makes me thankful for the life and the family God has given me. This Sunday's Sweet Reminder is to cherish those moments spent with family and friends. Be INCREDIBLY thankful for the time you get to spend with them. I hope next year we can have ALL of our cousins together :)

Unfortunately, my battery died in my camera because I forgot to charge it..........ooppss..so enjoy a few of the pictures I was able to take!! (and some from my iPhone :) Have a blessed Sunday friends!

Sunday's Sweet Reminder | Father's Day

I remember following him around everywhere, sitting on the floor in the mornings drinking hot chocolate while he sat next to me drinking black coffee, and sharing the same love for the outdoors; especially for trout fishing. My dad and I have ALWAYS been close.Even though there were times growing up when I thought he was just doing things to be mean, he was just protecting me.He will always be my hero. The man who has set such a good example of how a friend, father, and husband should be. I am so thankful that God has blessed me with such an amazing Dad. Thank you for always fixing my truck (EVEN ON FATHER'S DAY!!), for supporting me through every decision I have had to make, goals that I have set for myself, and for all of the advice that you give. (Weather I like it or not, it always seems to be the right stuff!) I love you Dad! Hope you have a really great day!! Love, Rosebud :)

On this Sunday, celebrate your Dad's!! Another one of Sunday's Sweet Reminders :) Have a fun Father's Day!!!

Here are some Dadisms that I would like to share:

- Life's tough; getta helmet!
- Here's the smallest violin, playing the saddest song, just for you.
- Try this! it'll put hair on your chest!!
- Ain'tcha ever heard coffee'll stunt yer growth??
- If I think so, I sweat so, and when I sweat so, I stink so, so I don't think so.

Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
--Ephesians 6:4
As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.

--Psalm 103:13
He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.

--Malachi 4:6
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.
--Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Thanks soooooo much for fixing Betsy!!!!!! You're the GREATEST!!!! :)
